Settings & Preferences

OneHaus lets you customize how the app works for you. From display preferences to sync options, the Settings page gives you control over your experience. These preferences are personal to your device and do not affect other household members.

Preferences

These settings apply to your device and affect how OneHaus behaves for you personally. Find them under Settings > Preferences.

  • Auto-submit voice recording: When enabled, OneHaus automatically sends your message after you finish speaking. When disabled, you can review and edit the transcribed text before sending. This is useful if you want to double-check what OneHaus heard before it acts on your request.
  • Show selection checkboxes: Enables checkboxes on task and shopping list items for batch operations. Turn this on if you frequently need to select multiple items at once. See Tasks & Chores for more on batch operations.
  • Enable haptic feedback: Toggles vibration feedback when you interact with the app. Turn this off if you prefer a quieter experience or find the vibrations distracting.
  • Show tasks filter: Choose which tasks appear on your home screen, tasks screen, and calendar. Options are "Mine" (only tasks assigned to you), "Shared" (your tasks and unassigned tasks), or "All" (all household tasks). See Tasks & Chores for more on how filters work.
  • Show tasks in calendar: When enabled, tasks with due dates appear alongside events in your calendar timeline. This gives you a unified view of everything happening in your household. See Calendar & Events for more on the calendar view.
  • Sync calendar: Syncs household calendar events to your device's calendar. When enabled, events you create in OneHaus are pushed to your device calendar automatically. Grant calendar access when prompted. Changes made directly on your device calendar are not pulled back into OneHaus. For the most accurate schedule, create and manage events in OneHaus and let sync handle the rest.
  • Sync contacts: Syncs your household contacts to your device's address book. When enabled, OneHaus pushes household contacts to your phone. Grant contacts access when prompted. See Contacts & People for more on managing contacts.

Tips

  • Check the Today Panel on your home screen each morning. It highlights overdue tasks, items due today, and upcoming events so you know what needs attention first.
  • Enable "Show tasks in calendar" if you use the calendar as your main planning tool. Seeing tasks and events together helps you spot scheduling conflicts early.
  • Try auto-submit voice recording when you are comfortable with the AI Chat. It speeds up interactions since you do not need to tap send after each command.
  • Review your sync settings periodically. If you change devices or reinstall the app, you may need to re-enable calendar and contact sync.

Troubleshooting

Sync not working Check that OneHaus has the correct permissions at the device level. On iOS, go to your phone's Settings > Privacy & Security and ensure OneHaus has access to Calendars and Contacts.

Preferences not saving Ensure you have an active internet connection. Preferences sync to your account so they persist across sessions. If you are offline, changes may not save until connectivity is restored.

Calendar events appearing twice Check that you are not syncing the same calendar from multiple sources. For example, if you sync a shared Google Calendar on your phone and also add those events manually in OneHaus, you will see duplicates. Disable one source to resolve the issue.

Tasks not showing in calendar Make sure the "Show tasks in calendar" toggle is enabled in Settings. Also confirm that the tasks have due dates set, since tasks without due dates do not appear on the calendar timeline.
