Notifications & Reminders
Stay on top of your household with push notifications. OneHaus sends timely reminders for tasks, events, shopping list changes, and more, so nothing slips through the cracks.
Notification Categories
OneHaus groups notifications into five categories so you can control exactly what you receive:
- Changes: Task updates, calendar events, and shopping list changes. Stay in the loop when household members create, update, or complete items.
- Reminders: Reminders for upcoming due dates. Get notified before tasks or events so you have time to prepare.
- Household: When members join, leave, or household settings change. Keep track of who is in your household and any configuration changes.
- Billing: Subscription and trial notifications. Know when your plan renews, when a trial is ending, or when payment details need attention.
- System: Important system alerts that require your attention.
Enabling Push Notifications
Follow these steps to turn on push notifications:
- Open OneHaus on your device.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Notification Preferences.
- Use the Enable all notifications toggle at the top to turn all categories on or off at once, or toggle each category individually.
You also need to allow notifications at the device level. When OneHaus first asks for notification permission, tap Allow. If you previously denied permission, you can enable it manually in your device settings under the OneHaus app.
Notification Preferences
You can enable or disable each category independently. This lets you receive only the notifications that matter to you. For example, you might want reminders and changes notifications but prefer not to receive billing updates. Adjust these at any time in Settings > Notification Preferences.
Each household member manages their own notification preferences. Your choices do not affect what other members receive.
In-App Notifications
OneHaus Premium — The in-app notification inbox is part of OneHaus Premium. See Plans & Subscription for what's included.
Even with push notifications disabled, OneHaus shows in-app notification banners on the home screen for important updates. These banners appear when you open the app and cover things like overdue tasks or upcoming events. Tap a banner to go directly to the relevant item, or swipe to dismiss it.
Deep Links
Tapping a push notification takes you directly to the relevant item in the app. Tap a task reminder to see the task details. Tap a calendar notification to view the event. Tap a shopping list update to jump straight to the list. This saves you from navigating through menus to find what triggered the notification.
Tips
- Start with all categories enabled, then turn off any that feel too noisy after a week of use.
- Make sure at least one household member has system notifications enabled so important account messages are not missed.
- Use reminders alongside recurring tasks to build consistent household routines.
- If you share shopping duties, keep changes notifications on so you know when the list changes before heading to the store.
Troubleshooting
Not receiving any push notifications First, check your device settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Notifications > OneHaus and confirm notifications are allowed. Then open OneHaus and verify that your preferred categories are toggled on in Settings > Notification Preferences.
Receiving too many notifications Open Settings > Notification Preferences and disable the categories you do not need. For example, turning off changes can significantly reduce notification volume if you do not need updates about task and shopping list activity.
Notifications arriving late This can happen when your device is in battery saver or low-power mode. These modes may delay push notifications. Check your device's battery settings and add OneHaus to any "unrestricted" or "allowed" list.
