Add Anything From a Photo
Some things are quicker to photograph than to type. Point your camera at a receipt, an appliance label, a school letter or an event flyer, send it to the OneHaus assistant, and it reads the details and creates the right items for you.
OneHaus Premium: Adding a photo to the assistant is part of OneHaus Premium. See Plans & Subscription for what is included.
How It Works
Open the assistant and tap the photo button to take a new picture or choose one from your library. Add a short note if you want to ("this is the new dishwasher") or send the photo on its own. OneHaus reads what is in the image, pulls out the useful details, and turns them into tasks, events, shopping items, contacts or inventory records, just as if you had typed them.
The photo is compressed on your device first, so it uploads quickly even on a slow connection. You stay in control: OneHaus shows you what it created, and you can edit or remove anything before moving on.
What It Can Read
- Receipts and shopping photos: add the items to your shopping list, or capture a purchase for your records.
- Appliance and electronics labels: record the make, model and serial number in your home inventory, with the warranty or service date.
- Letters and bills: capture a renewal, appointment or due date as a calendar event or task so it does not slip.
- Event flyers and invitations: add the date, time and place to your shared calendar in one step.
- Business cards and contact details: save a name, phone number and email to your contacts.
- Handwritten notes: turn a quick list on paper into tasks or shopping items.
If something in the photo is unclear, OneHaus asks a short follow-up question rather than guessing.
Share a Photo From Your Phone
You do not have to open OneHaus first. From your phone's photo library or camera roll, use the share button and choose OneHaus. The photo goes straight to the assistant, which reads it and creates the right items in your household. See Share into OneHaus for more on sharing into the app.
Tips
- One photo at a time works best. Fill the frame with the receipt, label or letter so the text is easy to read.
- Good light and a steady hand help. If the text is blurry, retake the photo.
- Add a short caption when the photo needs context, like "warranty for the boiler" or "Maya's swimming schedule".
- Review what OneHaus created before you carry on. You can tweak any detail.
Your Photos Stay Yours
Photos you send to the assistant are compressed on your device and sent securely to our AI provider to be read. They are not kept after the request, are not shared with advertisers, and are never used to train AI models. As with everything in OneHaus, your household data stays yours.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing happened after I sent a photo: check your connection and try again. Very large images are compressed automatically, but a clearer, well-lit photo always reads best.
- The wrong details were picked up: edit the item OneHaus created, or send a sharper photo. You can also add a caption to tell OneHaus what to focus on.
- The photo button is greyed out: adding photos is part of OneHaus Premium. See Plans & Subscription.
