Getting Started

Getting started with OneHaus takes just a few minutes. Here's how to set up your household.

1. Download the App

OneHaus is available on mobile and the web:

2. Create Your Account

Open OneHaus and login with either your Apple account or your Google Account. This will create you an account if you don't already have one.

3. Create a Household

After signing in, tap Create Household and give it a name (e.g., "The Smiths" or "Apartment 4B"). You can also add your household address and notes for any extra details your members should know. You're now the household owner.

For more on household management, see Household Management.

4. Invite Members

Share your household with family members or roommates:

  1. Go to Settings > Household > Invite
  2. Share the invitation link or code with anyone you want to join
  3. Members join by entering the invite code in their OneHaus app

You can also toggle the "allow joining" setting to control whether new members can join with the code. When this is turned off, the code will stop accepting new members until you re-enable it.

All members share the same tasks, events, and lists, kept in sync across the household. For more details, see Household Management.

5. Set Up Notifications

OneHaus can send you reminders for tasks, events, and other household activity. Head to your notification settings to choose what you want to be notified about. See Notifications & Reminders for the full guide.

6. Configure Preferences

Customize OneHaus to suit the way you work. You can adjust task filters, calendar display options, voice input behaviour, and more. See Settings & Preferences for all available options.

7. Explore the Features

OneHaus has eight core features. Here's a quick tour:

  • Tasks: Tap the + button to create your first task. Set it as recurring, assign it to a member, or let OneHaus rotate it automatically.
  • Calendar: View your household timeline. Tap any date to add an event. These events can be synced to your device's calendar.
  • Shopping: Create a list, add items, and share it with your household.
  • Recipes: Save a recipe, add ingredients, and send them to your shopping list in one tap.
  • Inventory: Add your first item, such as an appliance, vehicle, or pet, and track its details.
  • Contacts: Store details for tradespeople, doctors, vets, and other people your household relies on. These can be synced to your device's contact list.
  • AI Chat: Tap the chat icon and try saying "Add milk to the shopping list."
  • Home Screen: Once you have some data, your home screen will show a stats grid, a Today Panel with your most pressing items, and suggestion chips for quick actions.

8. Add a Home-Screen Widget

Keep your household in view without opening the app. OneHaus includes home-screen widgets that show your incomplete task count, upcoming event count, and shopping list count at a glance, along with your next few tasks, events, and shopping items.

  • iOS: Long-press your home screen, tap the + in the corner, search for OneHaus, and choose a widget size.

Widgets refresh as OneHaus syncs, so the counts and lists stay current.
