Calendar & Events
Everyone in the household sees the same calendar, on their own phone.

Creating events
Tap any date on the calendar to create a new event. You can set:
- Title: What the event is, for example "Dentist appointment"
- Date and time: When it happens
- All-day: Toggle this on for events that span the entire day, such as birthdays or holidays
- Location: Optional location details
- Description: A longer explanation, separate from the quick notes field
- Notes: Any additional information
Recurring events
Most household events repeat. Set the repeat as a number and a unit of Day, Week, Month or Year: every 1 Week for the bin collection, every 2 Weeks for the club night, every 1 Year for a birthday.
- End dates or "repeat forever"
- Max occurrences: Set a limit on how many times the event repeats, for example repeat 10 times
- Duration: Specify how long each occurrence lasts, so your timeline shows accurate time blocks
Timeline view
The timeline is a scrollable, day-by-day view of your household schedule, starting from today. Today's heading is highlighted so you can find it at a glance. Anything already past its date surfaces separately as overdue.
Nothing to page through: scroll and the next few weeks are already there.
Tasks in the calendar
Tasks with due dates appear alongside your events in the timeline, for the whole household. The timeline follows the same Show tasks preference in Settings & Preferences as the task list: Mine, Shared or All.
Device calendar sync
OneHaus can copy your household events into the calendar already on your phone, and read events back the other way.
Open Settings, tap Sync calendar, then turn on Sync with this device and pick the device calendar you want OneHaus to use. If you have no preference, OneHaus offers to make its own OneHaus calendar on the device, which only household events go into. Read-only calendars cannot be used.
Two settings decide what happens next.
Sync direction is either OneHaus to this device, which copies household events out and brings nothing back, or Both ways, which also reads events from that calendar into OneHaus. One way is the default.
Imported events decides who sees what comes back. Only on this device keeps imported events in your own copy of OneHaus, and nobody else in the household sees them. Shared with the household adds them to the household calendar, so every member sees their titles, times and locations. Sharing imported events is part of OneHaus Pro. Without it, imports pause rather than falling back to sharing.
Sync works the same on iPhone and Android, against whichever calendars your device already holds, including any Apple Calendar or Google Calendar accounts you have added to the phone. Tap Sync Now to run it on demand.
Exporting an event
Open an event and tap the share icon in the header to save it as an iCalendar (.ics) file. Recurring events export the same way. Your device's share sheet opens, so you can send it by message or email, or add it to another calendar app. Almost every calendar app reads .ics.
Subscribing to holiday and external calendars
You can also bring outside dates into your shared calendar: national and religious holidays for a country, or any feed published as an .ics or webcal link. The events appear in your shared calendar and keep themselves up to date.

Tips
- Set a duration on recurring events so the timeline shows a real time block rather than a point in the day
- The AI Chat can create events: "Schedule a family dinner this Saturday at 7pm"
- Set reminders so household members get notified before events
Troubleshooting
- Events not syncing: check that you granted OneHaus calendar permission in your device settings, and that a calendar is selected under Settings, Sync calendar.
- Duplicate events: with sync set to Both ways, an event you create in OneHaus and then again on your phone will show twice. Create it in one place and let sync carry it to the other.
